Shinco Error Codes

$

Hi. New to your forum and am hoping someone can help!

Have a 9000BTU split a/c. Ref is KFR-35GW/A, which I THINK is probably a Shinco? Its 4-5 years old.

Problem. Runs for about 30 secs and then cuts out. Error code is "EF". Have looked everywhere on the Net and plenty of Error Codes for Shinco.....but not EF!

Definitely not a gassing problem, topped up. Must be some sort of sensor....but what?

Any thoughts/test suggestions most welcome.

Hi everyone,
I have an ammonia overfeed system @-30C and i am pumping it to 4 set of coolers. 6@-30,2@-20 and 4@0 .So while selecting the pump,Do i need to consider the pressure drop in all these coolers(ie,from -30 to -20 and -30 to 0)...or i need to consider only the larger pressure drop (ie -30 to 0)..please help....!

Daikin my old friend

Hi guys

I have the following

Indoor-------FDY P250B7V1
Outdoor ----RYP250B7W1

I'm wrecked and I can't remember if it wasn F1 or F2 that kept blowing , it's the one that feeds the safety devices and the indoor unit. Anyway it was popping fairly regularly when I got to site, I went through the usual, disconnected the indoor everything ok , long story short I had the unit running for 4 or 5 hours while I was doing other work, I had bypass the 2 fan thermal overloads, not best practice Sue me , I had disconnected the crankcase heater so i still had the two pressure switches and obviously the indoor connected. After running for the 5 hours I heared a loud bang, the fuse didn't just blow it blew completely out of the fuse holder and tripped the main 3 phase mcd, can anyone shed some light on what's going on here, the only thing i did notice was that the cable for the indoors was a 3 core flex at the outdoor and ended up being a shielded cable like .5 or something, maybe even less. This has been running like this for over 10 years , I didn't get much of a chance to check this out , just to say there are 3 other systems identical to this sharing the same remote, U5 faults all day when the fuse popped seemed to shut everything down any ideas ????!

Fujitsu green flashing light.

Hi, I have a Fujitsu inverter heat pump. The numbers are AOT12LFBC & AST12LSBCW.
The heat pump stops heating and the green timer light flashes continuously. Only powering off will get the unit heating again. It appears to happen when outside temperatures are cold and damp. The outdoor unit ices up, then it goes into a defrost mode with red power light flashing. It will go into green flashing light mode before or during restart.
I tried reducing room temperature setting to 21°C (70°f)and it may have helped but today with outdoor temperatures about 7 -8°C (44°f - 46°f) it went into green light flash mode twice. ( It was powered off in between). Looking at the outdoor unit, it freezes at the bottom of the radiator.
Any tips appreciated. Anything I can do to improve outdoor unit from freeze-ups?
Please help. Thanks.

Liquid Line Sub Cooling

Hi All, Long time no hear,

Question, will there be any net gain to capacity of system by installing a subcooler in the main liquid line. With said subcooler fed from the system it is installed on. No external condensing unit running the subcooler, no two stage compressors etc. In this scenario it would be an existing standard recip rack system, connected too various rooms cabinets.

Cheers all.

I know this may seem like a really dumb question but can r134a be topped up or does it have to be reclaimed and a fresh charge applied. I was always taught it needed to be reclaimed and always have done but over heard an engineer saying he was just going to top it up as you would if it was a gas like r22.

Frozen City Multi accumulator

Hi,

I had a report that ice was building up on an indoor cassette unit off a R407c Mitsubishi City Multi, this causing water leaks.

On further inspection of the outdoor condenser the bottom half of the accumulator along with the service valve area of the suction pipe was solid with ice!

My first port of call before trying anything else is to weigh out any remaining refrigerant charge as I'm thinking possible low on gas.

Would this be a good place to start and what causes the accumulator to frost over (in cooling) operations?

Many thanks.

I'm on the look out for interesting refrigeration or air conditioning jobs in the UK, below is an overview of my experience and education. Any questions or suggestions are welcomed.

Thanks

Sean Forteith

I am a trained refrigeration technician with a good understanding of engineering fundamentals and experience working on mechanical and electrical systems. I am interested in mechanical engineering and in going further in refrigeration, but I am open to opportunities in other areas. I would like to find a hands-on role and I am very interested in having the opportunity to go into the more in-depth engineering theory. I am a quiet and conscientious person, happy to get my hands dirty, keen to be learning and willing to relocate.

Auto Air Con

Is this the right area for auto air conditioning? Does anyone know anything about it?

Just bought a Jaguar X Type and the air con doesn't work. The compressor physically runs but is not pumping as the pressures aren't changing. It had no gas in system on arrival so I've charged it to the correct amount and no luck. Was hoping for a quick fix but looks like a new comp will be needed at the moment

Ammonia Spiral Freezer Issue

Dear All,

I am faced with a challenging issue on an Ammonia plant for a Spiral Freezer. The compressor is a Kobelco Compressor (Screw). I was called upon from the client since they lost the PLC program for the entire system - Once the program was back online (the original one from Frigo-technica who basically supplied the skid) we started the compressor which worked fine till it stopped pulling down the temperature somewhere at -20C (around 1.6 bar).

Being 100% loaded; the system keeps struggling to pull the load down but doesn't manage it.

The ammonia Pump is off for supplying to the spiral, I tried closing the liquid inlet to see if there is too much vapor ingress instead of liquid; I manually shut down the startup bypass valve and also played with the oil return from the oil separator but nothing helped.

The condensing pressure stays at 12.5~13.5 bar with liquid injection oil cooling.

Any ideas pointers to diagnose this one would be highly appreciated!less

Daikin rooftop package unit - need info on controller.

Hi,

I was called to look at a daikin ducted rooftop package unit that supplies air con to a commercial kitchen. Basically the manager is concerned that the controller is display in a flashing "F" in the top centre of lcd display. Other than that the unit seems to working ok and suppling cool air to the kitchen. I'm guessing it might be a filter warning sign. The filters are clean but maybe it has an hours runtime counter and just needs resetting?
That's my problem, I've never seen this type of controller on any standard Daikin vrv or split units. It has menus to change settings and parameters but it requests a password which no one seems to know. 0000 and 1234 don't work.
The outdoor package unit model number is UATYQ250MCY1.
Any info greatly appreciated.

Daikin L9 error code RXYSQ4M7V3B

Hi all

I have the machine mentioned in title. Was installed second hand and couple of issues getting going - a U4 error and another which i forget but i think was pcb related. Then it started working and was cooling ok.

The system is 12.5Kw but we have about 8 indoor units amounting to 17.5Kw. We didnt have them all on at the same time. Pipework is spread accross 6 floors. It worked ok for about a week but then last week with the hot weather it was failing. I would turn off outdoor unit, leave for a while and then hold reset and power cycle. That fixed it a few times but then it died and we were left with L9 code and the fans and compressor arent coming on (lights are on though).

As far as i can determine, this means we have either a faulty inverter pcb or refrigerant loss or maybe dead compressor. The refrigerant was just checked so that should be ok. It appears that the PCB is a common problem so i wonder how you check that other than just replace it (if you can find one).

What advice does anyone have for troubleshooting without spending lots of money?

Many thanks
Ash

Hi guys, I think I have a problem with my reefer, but dont know which one. The reefer is loaded with frozen gelato which we have to keep at -20F. Temperature in the box is -5 now.
Discharge air temp is -16.7 F
Temperature differential is -12.2 F
Coil is -9.1 F
Ambient temp is 101 F
I think something wrong with sensors. How could discharge air be cooler than the coil?
Also suction pressure is 10
discharge pressure is 358
ETV position is 800
Where should i start?
