UNISAB II RS2LAN Communication with WinCC or Simatic PLCs

$

Dear all,
My customer has 3 JCI/YORK compressors with UNISAB II controlers. All controlers are conected via Danbus to RS2LAN converter. Converter is connected to PC with SabVisual SCADA.

Customer wants chnage PC with SCADA system. He prefer Siemens SCADA WinCC Professional V13 and SIMATIC S7 PLC controllers(S7-1200 or S7-1500).

Do anyone know what kind of software I need to communicate RS2LAN with WinCC or S7 PLCs ?
I supose that I need some OPC driver. Do anyone have this driver?
Maybe someone have a documentation to R2LAN converter?

Thanks in advance for answers.

Recommendation for Reverse Pipe Split Unit

$

Hello,

I am looking for a split ductless unit around 9000 BTUs, only need it to cool, and is easy to reverse pipe. Using a left hole is a direct path outside, going right runs me into the garage and behind large built-in cabinets. I would like some recommendations of units that are easier than others installing the drain and ac lines using a left hole.

Thanks

holdover refrigeration

Got called to a little Yacht:

Unit description and application: Refrigerant R12 low temp freezer box with two holdover paltes

There are two refrigeration circuit for this unit. two separate condensers, one water cooled and the other air cooled. two different compressors one engine driven and the other compressor sites on a 1/3 hp hermetic compressor commercial condensing Tecumseh unit . two hold over plates are held in the freezer section. there is two TXV's on there respective line sets. from the txv refrigerant then passes to the first holdover then through the exit of the first hold over to the second hold over. I did not see any type of oil return between compressor (over course they are very different) i did not see liquid line solenoid.

When they have 115 volts on shore power then they would run the Tecumseh. (for what i think is one circuit of r12)
When the boat is off shore they use one of the two diesel engines to turn a belt/engine driven compressor (for the what i think is the second r12 circuit)

Interesting fact Tecumseh unit is controlled by a low pressure switch. But the other unit just has a high pressure differential switch and nothing else? i not sure how the second refrigerant circuit is maintaining box temp when out at see. any idea?

Question #1 are the two refrigeration circuits connected? (I did not see any evdnce that lead me to belive that but maybe im missing something)

Question #2. The Tecumseh condensing unit needs to be replace (small receiver leak and bad compressor)
The unit is R12.....so is the TXV. i really want to avoid touching the txv as it seems i will have to remove part of the counter in order to replace it. THAT BEING SAID I AGREE THAT I SHOULD CHANGE THE VALVE OVER TO THE NEXT REFRIGERANT. But i would like to know if i can use a R134a condensing unit and let it run on MP66. MP66 can work on many different oils. what are the problems might i run into if i do this?

try to keep in mind there is a very very limited amount of space around that txv thats why i ask. i know if i buy something r134a then i should really only put r134a.

Just posting for more information. At this point i will replace existing r12 with 404a and change the txv.

Thanks for any info

This should be easy for you experts.....

Hi all, I'm sure there must be a quick answer to this ( I hope)...
I'm not a fridge engineer !
The company has just expanded its fleet in to cold food. I moved the drivers seat forward on a newly acquired ex Sainsburys delivery van (Sprinter) and as I did so the cooler just stopped (engine was running)- Had a look and it had just knocked a fuse out of its holder for the fridge electrics. Reached down, found and put fuse back in - nothing. The model is Carrier Neos 100. If it helps the fuse went to a red wire and isn't blown (7.5 amp is what fell out). There are other fuses there too, none are blown, no wires look like they have been pulled. Is there some kind of reset required, fuse falling out is just the same a fuse blowing surely. What might I have messed up ? ( other than my job)
Thanks guys

Lineset considerations for oil return etc

Hey guys, I just want to run this up the flag pole before doing it.

I'm stuck between concerns about oil return, and not wanting refrigerant running down towards the compressor during the off cycle. Or maybe even oil for that matter?

Do I want pitch on the horizontal run as I assumed, or will this tend to cause slugging on startup?

Advantage of closed circuit cooling tower

$

Using closed circuit cooling tower will protect the fluid from contamination, maximize system efficiency by reducing fouling and scaling tendencies, reduce system energy cost and maintenenace cost.

Compared to other heat dissipation system:
1.vs. cooling tower+heat exchanger
closed circuit cooling tower is closer to wet bulb temperature and reduced fouling tendency, impove process efficiency
2. vs. air-cooled system
the processing temperature of closed circuit cooling tower is 10℃-20℃ lower, and closed circuit cooling tower requires less space and lower energy consumption
3. vs. one-off water system
reduces environmental impact, saving up to 95% of the cooling water
4. reduced installed cost and space required

Hi. Not sure this is the right place to ask this but i am about to service a couple of RTWB 208, 212, 218 chillers, but cant find any procedure to do so. The compressors does not have sightglass on the side to watch the oillevels. So i wander if you guys have a manual/procedure to change the oil in the compressor on theese?

Hello everyone. Any help would be appreciated. I have a Magic Chef MCBR1010. I was having defrost issues so I did some research and replaced the following parts:

1. T-STAT
2. DEFROST TIMER
3. DEFROST THERMOSTAT
4. DEFROST HEATER

Now coils on the freezer half freeze. The bottom set of cables are great. The top half of the coils near the fan freeze and build up frost. I don't know what else to replace. Once again, thank you all in advance.

Hotpoint FF4DK Frost build up in freezer

Hi All
Hope you could give me some advice

I have a hotpoint FF4DK Quadrio fridge/freezer and there is a buildup of ice at the bottom
of the freezer section ,and not allowing cold air to circulate to the fridge section .
When turned off and defrosted it will work fine for about 1 week and then there is the ice build up again .
could this be caused by a faulty defrost heater or electronic damper thermostat

Thanks in advance
Mike
