I helped my sister move at the weekend and managed to damage her Fridge Freezer.
After moving I noticed a small oil patch on the floor (about half a teaspoonful max). I could not work out where the oil had come and assumed it was OK and plugged it in. It seemed to work fine and I unplugged to move it to its final location.
When unplugged I could hear a slight hissing which was coming from the short stub pipe (filler?) on the compressor, on close inspection I could see the pipe was cracked. I tried to halt the leak by crimping the pipe and by using some Araldite but could not stop it.
I assume by now that all the gas has gone.
So :
1) Can this be repaired?
2) How much would it cost to repair the pipe and re-gas the FF?
3) Is this something that an be done as a DIY job?
Thanks
